It’s on shirts, posters and many other pieces of Merchandise for AMC’s The Walking Dead.  Fans love Daryl Dixon and the actor who plays him, Norman Reedus.  His redneck charm along with his ability to kick some butt have endeared him to millions of fans worldwide.

However, fans don’t always get to watch their favorite characters on the hit zombie survival drama survive.  Sometimes, even popular characters meet their doom in the most grizzly, disgusting ways.  Fans certainly don’t want this to happen, as evidenced by the “riot” threat and several Facebook pages devoted to the cause.

Spinoff Online (a part of Comic Book Resources) recently talked to Norman Reedus about what he’d like to happen if Daryl Dixon met his doom on The Walking Dead:

"Spinoff Online: “The Walking Dead” fans say that if Daryl dies they will riot. What is that kind of fan response like for you?Norman Reedus: I mean I know it’s a t-shirt. Thank you? I like a good riot. I remember the LA riots, and I was like, “Why don’t we get the DMV? Let’s take down the DMV. Why are we taking down this store? Who needs a TV? Let’s burn the DMV!”"

Since Spinoff Online probably wasn’t expecting that answer, they wanted to make sure that Norman Reedus meant what he said.

"So if Daryl dies you would prefer your fans specifically riot at the DMV?[Smiling] Just go straight to the DMV, yeah. Take out all your anger at the DMV."

It sounds as though the Department of Motor Vehicles isn’t safe if Norman Reedus’ character dies.  While most people have some kind of horror story from the DMV, there are some individuals that see things a bit differently.

Not everyone from The Walking Dead would like to see the DMV rioted.  In fact, a tweet from The Walking Dead’s showrunner Scott M. Gimple shows that he actually has a wonderful time there.

Enjoy it while you can, Mr. Gimple.  Because if Norman Reedus’ character dies, you won’t have those 10/10 experiences again.
