The Walking Dead Season 5: The Complete Edition is due to come out on August 25, 2015.  Included in that DVD or Blu-Ray set are tons of special features, commentary, deleted scenes, and featurettes.

Thanks to the folks over at Anchor Bay Entertainment and Starz Media, we’ve had the opportunity to get several sneak peeks at some of the bonus features that will be included with The Walking Dead season 5.  We’ve gotten some deleted scenes and features that we won’t get to see until the DVD releases.

From the YouTube account of Starz Media, we now have another look from The Walking Dead’s fifth season with a deleted scene from the popular episode “Four Walls and a Roof”.  Here is that video:

I really like this clip.  Personally I feel like this should have been left in the episode so people didn’t view Father Gabriel of as much of a monster and hypocrite.  However, I can see how this dialogue could have slowed down the pacing of the episode in a way that would have been detrimental.

Still, I feel this is a conversation that should have happened at some point on The Walking Dead.  If they couldn’t have squeezed it into ‘Four Walls and a Roof”, they might have been able to find a spot for it at some point before the attack on Grady Memorial Hospital.

In the past, I could see the merits of removing some of the scenes that were ultimately cut, but this one actually gave a unique perspective to the relationship between Rick and Gabriel as well as put forth some understand on what Gabriel did and why it bothered him so much.  To tie that incident in with what Rick Grimes has done in the past was something I really enjoyed.

What did you guys think of this deleted scene?  Should it have been left in the episode?  Do you feel it offers information we didn’t get otherwise?  Let me know in the comments below.
