The Walking Dead season 6 spoiler: An eye for an eye
By Adam Carlson
AMC’s The Walking Dead is one of the biggest shows in the world. Millions of fans tune in each week to find out what Rick Grimes and the rest of the survivors will have happen each week. Although the show is currently on hiatus while filming season 6, that doesn’t mean that we have no information to share.
In fact, our friends over at The Spoiling Dead Fans on Facebook have caught on to something that could be AMC’s version of a major event from The Walking Dead’s comic book series.
WARNING: POSSIBLE SEASON 6 SPOILER BELOW
Alright, if you’re still reading, that means you want to know the spoiler. Well, last night The Spoiling Dead Fans reported that several major actors were on set and one had a very noticeable accessory that could mean something bad is in store for a popular character.
The accessory in question is an eye patch that Chandler Riggs was wearing over his right eye. Check out their post on Facebook to see the pictures confirming that this is happening on the set.
Fans of The Walking Dead’s comic book series know that Carl Grimes loses his eye in a firearms accident involving Alexandria’s Douglas Monroe. He then has his eye bandaged for a significant amount of time in the graphic novels before trading in the gauze for a pair of sunglasses to hide the wound.
There are some chances that the show will not follow the exact storyline from the comics. AMC’s The Walking Dead has been known to take some of the incidents from the books and change them to better suit a television audience. It is possible that the injury happens from something else and this is just a teaser for fans of the comics, but you’d have to believe that with how important Carl’s disfigurement and impairment is to the story in the comics that it will likely not be changed too much, if any.
Personally, I’m really excited to see this happen in The Walking Dead’s sixth season, as it sets up many great things involving Carl Grimes and should allow the show to finally focus on him a bit and hopefully make AMC viewers like him more as a result.
