With season 6 of The Walking Dead just around the corner, fans and the media ate busy trying to squeeze every bit of information they can out of the cast and crew of the show in interviews, on social media, and observing filming.

Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead‘s creator is usually one of those who is very quiet about what will be happening in upcoming seasons, but during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he let fans in on

"“The biggest differences we’ll see revolve around Daryl, who was never in the comic, and Carol, who was long dead and never as cool as the TV version by this point.”"

As a reader of the comics, this is really interesting to me.  I love that there will be some drama and possibly conflict between characters who are not a part of the graphic novels.  Daryl Dixon never existed in that universe and Carol played a much less significant role before ultimately passing away before this point in the story.

Right now, there looks to be several great storylines going in inside Alexandria.  We’ve got Morgan and Rick being reunited, the shift of power with Deanna Monroe, Father Gabriel’s judgement, the wounded Tara, Glenn and Nicholas at odds and much, much more.  Adding stories around Daryl and Carol will help keep the fan base at ease, as many tune in just to see these two characters.

What do you think?  Do you like the idea of creating more storylines with everything that is going on?  Or do you think The Walking Dead should stick more closely to the events in the comics and not stray too far from that source material?  Let me know your opinion in the comments below.
