Fear the Walking Dead: Reader thoughts going into the finale
By Susie Graham
Our readers answered some poll questions about Fear the Walking Dead and their thoughts about some things moving into Sunday’s finale of the first season. Almost 200 readers clicked their selections throughout the week and here’s what the clicks reveal.
About 75% of the readers think that we will see infected go down on Sunday and we will lose at least one main character along with the infected. 20% think we’ll only lose infected. 13 voters think we’ll only lose a main character or two and not see the infected go down.
21% of the voters think the trend of less is more will continue regarding the zombies in Fear. A big 79% of the voters think perhaps the doors of the arena will burst open or the hospital will be breached, but some how, some way, we will see our first herd unleashed.
We learned some disturbing information about Daniel last week, and he used some extreme methods to extract information from Andrew Adams. He did find out the meaning of Cobalt, which presents a huge dilemma and deadline for action on the characters.
About a quarter of the voters felt that Daniel had other options to try to get the information from Andrew. The remainder felt he was justified because of his family and because he learned about Cobalt.
About 13% of the voters consider Daniel to be a bad man. The remainder do not, with about 80% acknowledging that he’s done bad things, but don’t consider him to be a bad man.
We met a new character in Victor Strand who is quite mysterious. 22% of the voters think that Victor will turn out to be a villain like The Governor. The rest think he will join with our group of characters in some way. Over half of the people think he will be a bit of an anti-hero like Merle.
When the finale ends, 21% of the voters think the characters will be split up in many different groups or directions. 27% think the group will end up together in a big group or place. 52% think the group will be in one main group or area with the possibility of perhaps 1 or 2 splintered off or straggling. (Think after the farm when the group reunited, but Andrea was left behind.)
If a main character were to die in the finale, the characters that made the top 5 were Dr. Exner, Andrew, Liza, Travis and Ofelia.
So these are some things our readers think about the finale. Of course with anything Walking Dead, there will be things we can predict and speculate about, but there will be shocks and surprises that none of us could ever have seen coming!
