Earlier this week, we helped break the news that the fourth episode of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season would be a supersized 90-minute installment that will focus on the journey that Morgan took to reach Alexandria.  Now, we’ve got a little more news about that episode that fans of comics might truly love.

During the episode, we will be treated to a couple big extras, including a new installment in Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 and it was recently announced that we will also get a preview for a new show based on a comic book series: Preacher.

If you’re not familiar with the hit 1990’s comic book series Preacher from Vertigo Comics, here is a brief explanation of what the show will be about (paraphrased from Wikipedia):

"Preacher promotional poster – AMC“Jesse Custer, a preacher in Texas, is possessed by a creature composed of both pure goodness and pure evil which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church. Custer goes on a journey across the United States attempting to (literally) find God, who abandoned Heaven the moment the creature was born. He also begins to discover the truth about his new power to command the obedience of those who hear and comprehend his words.”"

Preacher will air on AMC and will continue their tradition of comic book adaptations, hoping to have success similar to The Walking Dead’s transition to the small screen.

The new show stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti and Lucy Griffiths.  Seth Rogen is the executive producer and shares the directing duties with Evan Goldberg.  These two have had success in the past, including hit films This Is The End and The Interview.

Make sure you tune in on November 1, 2015’s installment of The Walking Dead to get a first look at the trailer for Preacher.  It has all the makings of what could be a hit show for AMC when it debuts in the Summer of 2016.
