The Walking Dead #150: Betrayed to offer 5 different covers
By Adam Carlson
The Walking Dead will offer five different covers of the supersized issue #150 titled ‘Betrayed’, which hits newsstands on January 13, 2016.
Fans of The Walking Dead‘s comic book series look to be in for a huge treat when issue #150 hits the market on January 13, 2016. Not only is it being teased that there will be a major incident in the book, titled “Betrayed”, but now there will be five total covers available for fans to collect or choose their favorite.
Each cover is inked by a different artist and depicts a totally different event, making them each unique and fun to collect.
Here are the three variant covers:
The first variant cover comes from The Walking Dead‘s original artist, Tony Moore. It is a near-replica of the cover of issue #1, only everything has grown over and Rick has been modernized. In addition, the faces in the glass are no longer walkers, and are now faces that should be familiar to fans of the series.
The second variant features Michonne and is inked by Jason Latour. It features the sword-wielding heroine slicing off the head (and fingers) of a walker in a plaid sleeveless shirt. The zombie’s head is sticking out its tongue and is a nice contrast to the completely dark background.
The final variant is by Ryan Ottley. It features Rick shoving a gun into the eye socket of a walker and repeatedly pulling the trigger. This is the most graphic of the three and will likely be a favorite among collectors because of the intensity of the artwork.
The other two covers will be the standard on with a bloody Rick Grimes standing in front of the number 150 inked by Charlie Adlard and a blank, white cover. Writer Robert Kirkman is excited about issue #150 as well as the different cover options available according to a recent Skybound press release:
"“It’s indisputable that reaching issue 150 is a huge achievement in comics. Charlie Adlard and Team Walking Dead have been working tirelessly for over a decade to get us to this milestone and now it’s time to celebrate. It’s an honor to have comic book pals Jason Latour and Ryan Ottley bringing their vision to these iconic characters. Additionally, words cannot describe how excited I am to have Tony Moore, artist of the first 6 issues, returning to provide a cover for this special event.”"
The extra-sized 40 page issue will be available for sale on January 13, 2016 and looks to be a “can’t miss” for fans of the series as well as collectors.
