Fear the Walking Dead: Guesses on season 2 stuff

After the Fear the Walking Dead marathon over the New Year, fans have started wondering again about season 2. When will it start? What will happen with our little blended family at sea?

If I had to guess, I would say that Fear the Walking Dead will begin right around Father’s day in the middle of June. I came to that guess by counting back 15 weeks from October 9th, 2016, my predicted start date for season 7 of The Walking Dead.

If they decide to skip Labor day or Father’s day, or 4th of July weekend, Fear The Walking Dead may start earlier in June. The other route they may take is starting right after The Walking Dead Season 6 ends, but I’m not banking on that.

We don’t know much about the plot, and according to the video clip, the actors themselves don’t know much about what will happen to their characters yet either.

We have learned that they are filming in Mexico, Alysha, so you’re not going to Hawaii. The apocalypse has begun, but they are still in the beginning phases. Rick would still be in his coma.

As with the original show, nobody is safe. It’s going to be interesting. There have been mixed reactions from The Walking Dead fans, but fans who stick with Fear should enjoy the exploration of the unraveling of the family’s regular lives now that it’s clear that things are not going to go back to the way they were.

In season 1, we were dealing with heavy denial in many ways. Denial will always play a role in the grief process, but the complete denial we were in–there will be a cure, the government will contain it, things will get back to normal in a few days–that denial is broken.

My other big guess for season 2 is some heavy conflict and bickering. Contained on a boat with very different personalities, there will be some clashing of philosophies to be sure! Not only group dynamics will be at play, but parent/child dynamics.

So those are a few of my guesses. I may be mistaken on the dates if they decide to toss in a midseason break into the mix. If they air all 15 episodes as one long season with a few Sundays off, it should start in June or late May.

I think it would be smart to have a small break between season 6 and the start of Fear. Fear is so different I think people will appreciate it more if they have a chance to rest from The Walking Dead and miss it a bit. I’m going to really enjoy having a full summer of Fear!
