Executive Producer of  AMC’s The Walking Dead has a new relationship with SyFy channel. A new show and a guest appearance on a current show.

SyFy has ordered 13 episodes of a series from Gale Anne Hurd, written by Natalie Chaidez, called Hunters based on a novel called Alien Hunter by Whitley Strieber. The series is due to premiere on April 11th of 2016, the day after the premiere of season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead on AMC

The series is about a terrorist group of possible aliens and a secret government group designed to hunt them, all of which we discover when a cop’s wife goes missing. (Via Deadline)

SyFy president Dave Howe is excited about the new show and had this to say: “We were so impressed by the pilot script from this outstanding and accomplished creative team led by Gale Anne Hurd and Natalie Chaidez. This fast-paced and innovative program takes viewers inside a chilling yet all-too-familiar world.” (Via Deadline)

More from Undead Walking

I just saw The 5th Wave, which was an alien drama about the end of the world and had many themes that were similar to The Walking Dead. With Gale Anne Hurd involved and a novel as source material, I’m very interested in this new show. I’ve become interested in genres that never interested me before.

Related to Hunters and related to The Walking Dead, SyFy has an unscripted competition show for prosthetic make up artists. Gale Anne Hurd will be joining the next Face Off as a guest judge for a challenge based on her new show Hunters.

SyFy is also home to The Expanse, which includes Chad L. Coleman, The Walking Dead alumnus, who played Tyreese.

Of course, The Walking Dead returns on February 14 and Fear the Walking Dead sets sail on Abagail on April 10th. Flight 462 continues with the 45-second webisodes and one or more of its passengers or crew members will join the Fear cast for the second season this summer.
