Entire Walking Dead cast showed up to welcome Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Gale Anne Hurd revealed that the entire cast showed up to welcome Jeffrey Dean Morgan to The Walking Dead family on his first day on the set as the charismatic comic book villain, Negan.
When Access Hollywood stopped to talk with Gale Anne Hurd, they asked about Negan, the second half of season 6 and Maggie’s baby. Their link has the video clip with Gale.
Access Hollywood wanted to know if the baby was a boy or a girl and if they could name it Hershel. In true mysterious The Walking Dead fashion, Gale smiled and said, “Wouldn’t that be great!?”
Her answer about the second half of the season going faster was The Walking Dead cryptic and complicated as well. As it should be. Faster has different connotations. The first half took place in just 72 hours, but that doesn’t mean their weren’t things that moved quickly.
Gale mentioned that we have quite a bit ahead of us. We have many new characters to meet yet, which may sound like things need to slow down, but again, fast has different connotations. The premiere itself looks to move quickly over a short period of time. The Wolf attack took place in the time it took for Carol’s creation to bake in the oven.

When it came to Negan, Gale sounded thrilled with the casting and the character:
"The opportunity to work with him is unbelievable. He gets to play a larger than life villain. And one who is incredibly charismatic. He knows who he is and he’s fine with that…He will bring the character of Negan to life better than anyone else we could have possibly cast."
She also sounded proud of her current cast and the family they have become. They all showed up at a night shoot, which was Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s first scene, to see him film and to welcome him to the family.
Negan and the second half of season 6 can’t come soon enough. It’s the most, promoted and viscerally anticipated midseason premiere or episode in general I can recall. The reserved, dangling threads of the midseason finale may have been smart after all for anyone who thought it was a disappointment.
Just 2 more days. Turn on your television any time between now and Sunday night for The Walking Dead nostalgia with the continuous marathon on AMC. Happy Valentine’s Day The Walking Dead family and Undead Walking readers!
