The Walking Dead coming to Universal Studios this summer

The Walking Dead will be a new featured attraction at Universal Studios in Hollywood, giving fans some frights in a simulated zombie survival environment.

Fans of The Walking Dead who have been dying to experience the rush of the zombie apocalypse will get their wish this summer, as a new attraction featuring the hit AMC survival drama is scheduled to debut at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

While there are still a lot of details that aren’t known about what the attraction will be like and how it will interact with those experiencing it, fans of the series should rest assured that Universal Studios will do their best to represent the hit cable show.

Here is the official announcement from the Universal Studios website about the attraction:

"“Coming Summer 2016, enter the post-apocalyptic world of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” in an all-new year-round attraction. Prepare to fight for survival in a fully immersive journey as you navigate through a world overrun by hungry walkers. Follow in the footsteps of the human survivors as you battle your way through nightmarish iconic landscapes that bring the most popular cable TV show in history to life!”"

As if that announcement wasn’t enough to get fans excited about the idea of potentially experiencing what some of their favorite stars on AMC’s The Walking Dead have lived through, there is also a great video previewing what the Universal Studios attraction could be like.

Admittedly, the teaser video is a bit corny, but it gets the point across. It lets us know that locations like the prison, Atlanta, Alexandria, and more will likely be a part of the attraction, which is being built on a piece of land close to the amusement park’s entrance according to the New York Daily News. It appears to offer many jump scares for those who love a good fright, and judging by the number of fans The Walking Dead has, it is easy to expect this to become one of the most popular attractions at Universal Studios.
