While The Walking Dead doesn’t exactly make weak episodes, The Same Boat was an exceptionally strong showing by two kickass women. What did viewers think? Read on to find out.

We’ve long since known that both Maggie and (especially) Carol were two people on The Walking Dead that we wouldn’t want to mess with. Last Sunday in episode 613, The Same Boat, the two of them proved once again just how true that is when they took out not only the crew that had abducted them but also their reinforcements before Rick and the gang managed to rescue them. Talk about girl power.

Over the past week, 157 people voted in our poll. Apparently the buzz on social media, in which many people decried their love for the episode, was widely felt among fans, because 82% of those who responded to our poll gave The Same Boat 4 stars.

In the data we’ve collected from the second half of season 6, this score is second only to the mid-season premiere, in which 89% of our poll respondents gave it 4 stars. It isn’t really surprising, however, because let’s face it, Carol and Maggie kicked ass.

While the vast majority of people who voted in our poll loved the episode, there were also 15% who gave it 3 stars – still not a bad rating. 1% gave it 2 stars, and 2% gave it 1 star. It’s hard for me to imagine how anyone who watches The Walking Dead and actually likes it could give it 1 star, but hey, to each his own.

Will this be the week we meet Negan? Will this be the week that something horrible happens? The closer we get to the season finale, the more terrified I am to watch. By 616, I’ll probably be watching from the spaces in between my fingers, held firmly in front of my face… but somehow I have a feeling I won’t be alone in doing so.
