Fear the Walking Dead was the subject of the panel at Media’s PaleyFest event on Saturday afternoon with cast and producers of the show discussing season 2.

Executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and David Erickson joined their cast members Colman Domingo, Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, and Rubén Blades for the discussion about season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead.

The audience was treated to 2 sneak peeks at scenes from the April 10th premiere. Madison and Daniel are wondering whether they should trust Victor Stand in one clip and Nick takes a swim and encounters a floating walker in the other.

Each clip brought up big questions about season 2, which were addressed in the panel: group dynamics and trust, and swimming zombies. We’ve seen zombies and water before so we have a little idea about that, but David Erickson answered it for us as far as Fear walkers are concerned.

“Zombies can’t swim, they can wade.” (Via Variety)

We’ve seen zombies wade a bit with Lilly and the Governor, and in the lake recently, but those particular zombies had the disadvantage of being on fire. The well walker was bloated because he had been in the water a long time. The Fear walkers are fresh and will likely look much different.

The wildcard at the end of season 1 was Strand. Colman described him as “an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in cash…that veneer [will] be deconstructed a bit” (Via Variety)

Erickson talked about Strand as well: (Via Variety)

"“Strand is very good at recognizing the currencies. In this world, he knows Nick is a heroin addict, he knows he’s a survivor, he knows he’s lived on the fringe, he sees value in [that]. He sees possibility; we’ll start to learn more about those possibilities as the season progresses.”"

The other actors described how their characters will all be dealing with their losses and the changing perspectives that the apocalypse has brought. They will be deciding who to trust. Trying to connect. It’s about survival now. (Via Variety)

The question of a crossover with The Walking Dead was brought up and it’s highly unlikely at this point. The timelines and geography are too far apart right now. They do cross over in the rules of the zombies though. They can’t do things on Fear the Walking Dead that would contradict the way the things have been established in that world. (Via Deadline)

Season 2 starts April 10th with the first 7 episodes. After a break, it will return with the second part, which will consist of 8 episodes. Stay with Undead Walking for updates on everything Fear the Walking Dead!
