First look at promo for Ride with Norman Reedus
By Susie Graham
This June Norman Reedus will be riding motorcycles on our television screens once again in his new show Ride with Norman Reedus on AMC.
That’s right! Norman Reedus will help us through our walker withdrawals by gracing our television screens riding on a motorcycle. But he won’t be Daryl Dixon, he’ll be himself. And he won’t be chasing zombies, he’ll just be chasing fun with his pals.
He won’t have a script to memorize either. The show is unscripted. It will be easy to find though, it’s on AMC. It’s called Ride with Norman Reedus. He may even gain a whole new set of fans who ride bikes and don’t know Daryl Dixon…yet.
More the walking dead: Trouble on Abigail
Once they meet Norman, they may end up binge watching on Netflix and join us in The Walking Dead family. Entertainment Weekly got a look at the first quick promo for Ride! (Click here or on the picture below to check it out.)
It’s a six episode series that will follow Reedus and a fellow rider on travels to different cities, combining motorcycle culture, travel and conversation. Reedus has compared the show to Anthony Bourdain’s CNN food show. (Via Entertainment Weekly)
"“It’s kind of like what Anthony Bourdain does right now with his show. The common denominator for him is food and when that show first came out it was about food. And then food stayed the common denominator, but it was about experiences and meeting people and hearing their stories. I love that show. I’m a huge fan of that show. And that’s kind of what we’re going for with this — the motorcycles will be the common denominator and riding will be the common denominator.”"
I think it sounds similar to Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. He gets together with comedians and talks about comedy. They share their enthusiasm for comedy and he shares his enthusiasm for cars by picking them up in an interesting car that he thinks matches their personality.
We’ll be grateful to find out for ourselves exactly what Ride with Norman Reedus is like in June when it airs. Thank you, AMC for helping us through walker withdrawals with Fear the Walking Dead and now this cool new show.
Next: Who do our writers and readers think might die in the finale?
With social media, comic cons and especially Talking Dead we’ve been able to get to know the actors a little bit outside of their characters on the show. This will be another fun way to get to know a little bit more about Norman Reedus.
