Fear The Walking Dead season 2: ‘No one is really safe’
By Adam Carlson
Fear The Walking Dead kicks off season 2 on April 10, 2016, but according to one of the show’s stars, Alycia Debnam-Carey, no one character is really safe.
The survivors of AMC’s record-breaking zombie series Fear The Walking Dead will be entering some unfamiliar territory when season 2 kicks off. Instead of living off the earth and bouncing from settlement to settlement, the Clark, Salazar, and Manawa families will be attempting to ride out the zombie apocalypse on board Victor Strand’s ship Abigail.
Season two should be unlike anything fans have seen before on either of AMC’s zombie survival dramas. The idea of seeing how the undead survive in deep water as well as how populated ports are great idea for making Fear The Walking Dead a unique adventure for fans.
But, according to an interview from Comic Book Resources, Alycia Debnam-Carey doesn’t feel like her character Alicia Clark should feel safe at sea with her family and newly found friends:
"“I was surprised to see how much danger and threat there was on sea — it’s as much as there was on land. I think they are surprised by that, too. The boat has given them a sanctuary — it’s got water, they have food. It’s got potential, but the threat is still very real. They start to discover that as the episodes go on.”"
The big question on everyone’s mind right now is whether or not zombies can float or if they sink to the bottom of the ocean. Either way, eventually the survivors on board Abigail will have to go to land to look for food and supplies, where there will likely be threats waiting for them everywhere.
"“No one is really safe on this show. That’s the virtue of this world, is that there is no rhyme or reason for who dies and who stays. The world these characters are thrust in is unpredictable and unexpected, so anything can happen. I’m hoping they won’t kill me off too soon, because I like this job.”"
