Fans of The Walking Dead trying to figure out who Negan killed in the season 6 finale of AMC’s zombie show have turned to slowing down audio for clues.

Lately, Undead Walking has been breaking down some of the biggest fan theories out there regarding The Walking Dead‘s sixth season and its major cliffhanger during the finale. This week, we turn to the closing scenes of season 6 episode 16 and the crazy audio that played before the credits roll.

There are some smart folks out there that were able to remove a lot of the distortion and cue in on the voices of the people screaming in horror as Negan bashed someone’s head in. For those who haven’t heard that audio yet, check it out here, as hosted on YouTube by failwhale34:

Between Negan’s taunts and exclamations, sounds of horror can be heard coming from the members of Rick’s group who are forced to watch the brutal killing. Fans say they hear people calling out names, such as Glenn and Maggie, from the audio, adding to the theory that Glenn will be the one killed.

However, slowing down the audio might not be the best way to get teasers as to who Negan chose using one of his favorite childhood games. In a recent interview on The Huffington Post website, Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene on The Walking Dead, confirmed that those voices were added from a recording studio and mixed into the scene later.

Here is what she said:

"“Here’s a good piece of intel,” Cohan said. “We shot the scene, and then individually went into a [sound] booth privately to record audio, so I don’t know. Nobody knows what anybody else said.”"

There is also rumor going around that this audio confirms that Abraham is the victim and the rest of the survivors are yelling at Glenn to get back in line as to not upset Negan and The Saviors any more. The fact that Abraham isn’t really heard during the video is something to note, but also does not confirm that he is the one getting his brains bashed in.

Does this audio point to either Glenn or Abraham as being Negan’s victim? Not really. This could all be one big elaborate way for AMC’s The Walking Dead to throw off fans that are hoping to find that nugget of a teaser to help solve this huge riddle. However, exploring these theories is a lot of fun, and something that we’ll continue doing at Undead Walking until we don’t hear of any more interesting probabilities out there.
