The Walking Dead comic universe expanding to Spain

Fans of The Walking Dead wondering what the outbreak is like in other parts of the world should be interested in Panel Syndicate’s look at zombies in Spain.

Until now, The Walking Dead has been a North American phenomenon. With the comic books and television shows focusing on the United States, Mexico, and mentioning Canada, the fans know that this part of the world is having horrible problems dealing with the undead.

However, thanks to an ominous tease from Robert Kirkman on Twitter, Now there is a way to look into the happenings in Spain and see how the zombie outbreak is being handled there.

The #PS at the end stands for Panel Syndicate. Panel Syndicate is is the official home of The Private Eye, a digital comic book by Brian K. Vaughan (script), Marcos Martin (art), & Muntsa Vicente (color). With the popularity of digital comic books, it was just a matter of time before The Walking Dead became a part of Panel Syndicate’s profile, and now, with The Walking Dead: The Alien, that is exactly what will happen in a one-shot special comic.

According to ComicBookResources.com, script writer Brian K. Vaughan loves the idea of bringing the zombie outbreak to life in other parts of the world, letting fans find out if things are as bad overseas as they are in North America.

"“Robert has joked in the past that because we never see other countries, maybe everything is just fine there. [Laughs] People in the U.K. are just sipping tea and enjoying life while the United States devolves into chaos. If nothing else, the first few pages of this issue will answer that question. Nope, things ain’t too much happier anywhere else in the world.”"

The comic will feature two characters, Claudia and Jeff, that fans of The Walking Dead‘s comic series have never seen before. However, The Walking Dead: The Alien will have the same rules as original series, just tell a different story about different locations.

Marcos Martin knows how passionate fans of the The Walking Dead‘s comic book series are, and is ready to hopefully fill in some questions and give fans some more characters to care about in the one-shot.
