***WARNING: THE WALKING DEAD 154 SPOILERS BELOW***
The comic opens with Andrea riding a horse and meeting up with Maggie. She explains that Lydia and Carl are welcome back at Alexandria now that the people have calmed down a bit about Alpha’s attack, but Andrea says that she’ll tell Rick that Carl will likely be sticking around at The Hilltop because of the freedom he has there. Maggie says that Carl is just a boy and should be with his father and that he is good to have around for Sophia. Andrea says it might be time to give up that hope.
Maggie quickly says that she didn’t mean romantically. She says that he should go ahead and “get the crazy girl pregnant” because that way she doesn’t have to deal with the situation. She says she meant as friends. Andrea says she’ll stick around and hang out with baby Hershel, but Maggie says that might not be fun with how he’s acting up.
Riding their horses, Michonne and Aaron find Brandon’s dead body in the field where Negan left him. Aaron asks if they should bury him or puncture his brain since he hasn’t turned into a zombie yet, but Michonne says they’ll deal with that on the way back because it is getting dark now.
As the sun sets, Negan swears at it. He also curses out Brandon for not packing a sleeping bag or blanket. He pulls out his knife and calls for anyone nearby to come out, saying he looks forward to this getting interesting. From out of nowhere, members of The Whisperers appear. Negan says they are creepy as hell and he doesn’t know how they can always tell the difference between their skin face masks and a real zombie face.
One member of The Whisperers seems surprised that Negan knows what they are and isn’t running for his life. He jokes about what might be under the masks in a hilarious way that only Negan can, but The Whisperers have no humor about it. They ask him why he’s come, and he says he’s just passing through. They seem surprised that he hasn’t been sent by Rick’s group.
A huge member of The Whisperers appears behind Negan, startling him and opening up another stream of humor and obscenities. The large man introduces himself as Beta, but when Negan joked again, Beta said that Negan needed to be silenced. Negan didn’t handle the threat well, saying he isn’t afraid of them and that they likely aren’t skilled fighters. They take Negan’s weapons and escort him out of the street.
Back in Alexandria, Eugene is still talking to the stranger on the radio. Apparently, he has now told the stranger all about what happened with The Whisperers and that they freely carry weapons around. Eugene says they have lots of guns and ammo and have been training soldiers. The voice on the other end says that the information is unsettling and Eugene reveals that one of Alpha’s victims was his girlfriend, Rosita. The other person apologized. And introduced themselves as Stephanie.
At The Hilltop, Carl is working the forge with a hammer. He is told that his girlfriend is safe and that nobody will try to send Lydia back to The Whisperers. Carl is pleased, and leaves to give her the good news. He runs into Maggie, who tells him that he’s free to return to Alexandria now, but he declines and says that The Hilltop is his home now. Maggie says Rick would feel more comfortable with him nearby, but Carl says he’s not a kid anymore and can make his own decisions.

Andrea returns to Alexandria and is VERY upset about the walls saying “Silence The Whisperers” in paint. She busts into Rick’s room, prepared to go off on him, but sees him covered in wounds from his earlier altercations. She notices he is missing teeth and covered in bandages. He says that he’s become a better leader since she’s been gone.
Michonne and Aaron are still following Negan. Michonne says how just how sexy Jesus, but Aaron is still getting over losing Eric. They hear a noise nearby and a walker emerges from the bushes, with Michonne quickly slicing its head in half horizontally. The walkers surround them, with Beta standing in the middle of the chaos. Michonne asks him to “call off the dogs” but Beta says they broke the rules when they crossed the border. Beta then stabs Aaron in the abdomen, and Michonne screams in horror. Beta says they should not have come into their territory.
Meanwhile, Negan is still being escorted by The Whisperers. He jokes about his skin suit needing extra room in the crotch and no buttons for easy access. He spots Alpha, who he immediately recognizes as the leader of the group, and says he’s in love.
