The Walking Dead may be filming season 7 of the hit zombie survival drama right now, but actor Norman Reedus says it’s like ‘a completely brand-new world’.

There’s a lot going on now in the world of the undead. The survivors in the comic book series are preparing for war, Fear The Walking Dead is enjoying a midseason break, and The Walking Dead left fans with a massive cliffhanger to hold them over until season 7.

While fans will have to wait until October for a new episode of AMC’s original zombie survival drama, that won’t stop actors like Norman Reedus from promoting the new season and delivering some promises for what fans can expect from the new season.

According to an interview on TVLine.com, Reedus is seemingly struggling to find a way to talk about the upcoming season. With all the new drama, new bad guys, new situations, and massive amount of drama on the horizon, it’s hard to believe that any actor on the program could come up with great words to describe what is going on during filming. However, the words of Norman Reedus give hope that there will be something unique waiting for fans this October.

More from Undead Walking

"“It’s a completely brand-new world right now,. It’s very exciting. And it’s emotional. And then it’s overwhelming and emotional!”"

And, of course, there can’t be an interview about The Walking Dead these days without asking about the big cliffhanger death and how that kill will impact the survivors from here on out. Instead of talking about that particular situation, Reedus explained that losing a character on the show means losing a friend on set, and that is never a pleasant thing to discuss.

"“We’re a very tight-knit group down there [on location in Georgia], and we take it very personally, because we’re in it and living it. Every time you see us crying on camera, those are real tears. It’s a whole day of living that s–t. And when personal things happen to you, you don’t wander around telling everybody your personal stuff. So for us, it doesn’t feel like just a spoiler, it feels like a moment that really happened. And if there’s a death involved, it’s kinda weird to talk about it. It’s like going to our friend’s funeral or going possibly to our own funeral! It’s not like, ‘Hey, how are you? Want a selfie? Let me tell you about the funeral I was just at… ’”"

Sadly, whether fans or actors like it or not, we will all be saying goodbye to someone from The Walking Dead‘s cast at the hands of Negan thanks to the huge cliffhanger fans were left with at the end of season 6. Hopefully, this death will bring the characters and actors together and help create an amazing 7th season for AMC’s hit zombie survival drama.
