Josh McDermitt doesn’t like the idea of spoilers getting out on The Walking Dead, but he understands the desire due to the hit AMC show’s popularity.

Being a star on The Walking Dead has to be interesting. Going from relative obscurity to being hounded on the streets can really change someone’s life. However, when that hounding moves from the streets to the set of AMC’s zombie survival drama, things aren’t as fun.

Right now, there are two huge topics regarding the hit show: who Negan killed in the season 6 finale and the lengths people will go to in order to get spoilers. Recently TMZ caught up Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene Porter on The Walking Dead to discuss what he feels about the spoiler situation.

Here is the video of Josh McDermitt talking with TMZ about protecting spoilers on AMC’s The Walking Dead as taken from the official TMZ YouTube account:

McDermitt’s unique take on spoilers is kind of refreshing. Although he continued with his (and every other actor’s) stance on folks trying to ruin the surprises for upcoming episodes of the AMC show, he looked at it from a different point of view.

"“Does every show need to do that? No, because not every show is The Walking Dead. What if I went to your job and I was like ‘Hey, uh let me take this project that you’re working on and just, it’s not even finished and just go tell everybody. Let me give it to your boss.’ You wouldn’t want that.”"

It’s the success of The Walking Dead that is drawing all these fans into wanting to know what will happen next. Some fans are too impatient to wait for the next new installment of the hit zombie survival drama and need to know what is coming up.

Josh McDermitt sees that as a bit of a pat on the back for the hard work that the cast and crew have gone through to make the show a success. If not for making a great show with interesting premises, folks wouldn’t have much interest in camping out to spy on the set.

"“That’s the other thing man, it’s like, we could be on a show that people don’t give a s**t about, so it’s kind of a double edged sword. It’s great, you know.”"

The Walking Dead is working hard to protect its secrets for season 7. In particular, the hit show would love to keep the lid on who Negan’s victim was at the end of season 6. Either way, fans will get to see that scene play out when the program returns to AMC this October.
