Fear The Walking Dead season 2B: Whats next for Madison?

Madison Clark maybe adapting to the zombie apocalypse during Fear The Walking Dead’s second season, but is she losing everything she loves along the way?

Fear The Walking Dead saw many of the show’s characters undergo major changes during the first half of season 2. One of those individuals hit hardest by the events to this point is Madison Clark, who seems to be learning what it takes to survive in this new world, but is also failing to keep those she loves safe.

During the season 2 midseason finale, Madison not only had her son tell her that he’d rather live among the zombies than humans, but she also lost her significant other. Travis made the tough decision to be with his son while they figured out what was going on in his head.

However, it would be a mistake to think that these losses will make Madison lose focus of survival. She still has her daughter Alicia with her as well as Victor Strand and Ofelia Salazar and could become even more protective now that her daughter is the only real family she has by her side.

There will come a time when Madison will need to loosen her grip on her loved ones though. Her constant babying of Nick was hard to watch at times, and the way she spoke to Victor about allowing him to go and get Luis could have put their entire family in danger. She will need to realize that although they are her kids, they can also be contributing members of the group, just as Rick previously struggled with when it came to Carl on The Walking Dead.

Madison getting in the truck as it drive away from Nick is a huge step for her character. Maybe now she realizes that holding on too tightly can damage relationships. This could open up Madison to a whole new world where she fights alongside her family and friends instead of fighting for them.

Whether or not Madison goes after Nick or Travis will be the important thing to watch for during the second half of Fear The Walking Dead‘s second season. She should be fine with her current group of survivors no matter where they decide to make their home, but eventually Madison will hear the call of her family and go after one of the two gentlemen.

Physical danger may not be a huge issue for Madison at this point, but watching how she adjusts to live without Travis and Nick by her side should be plenty interesting.
