Three artists from Skybound took their turn at creating a new comic book cover featuring The Walking Dead villain Negan in very different designs.

The Walking Dead has created one of the most popular comic book series in the world and that has encouraged many artists out there to try their hand at recreating some of the characters from the pages of the graphic novel.

While amateur artwork is fantastic and fans have made some very impressive pieces, sometimes it is great to see professionals tackle these characters as well. Recently three artists from Skybound chose Negan as their muse and created issue covers based on him.

Here is the tweet from the official The Walking Dead Twitter account featuring the interesting takes on Negan:

The artists working on this project were from three of Skybound’s hottest comic properties today. Covers of Birthright, Manifest Destiny, and Thief of Thieves were created with Negan front and center on them.

Here are some more clear versions of the three covers as hosted on TheWalkingDead.com:

Unsurprisingly, all three covers feature Negan in a glorious pose with his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille either raised in battle or used to taunt some helpless potential victims.

Birthright shows a clash between Negan and the comic’s hero Aaron Rhodes going head to head, with Lucille being blocked by his protective gauntlets. Others watch in the background as what is likely an epic battle goes on.

Manifest Destiny has the characters from the series lined up just like Rick and his people were back in issue #100 of The Walking Dead. Negan appears to be having a lot of fun playing his game of Eenie, Meanie, Miney, Moe with the potential victims.

Finally, Thief of Thieves shows a more brutal scene, with Negan mounting a person grasping for his face while a bloodied Lucille has to have beaten a victim to a pulp. This version of Negan looks to be inspired both by the comic character and the actor playing him on the AMC show, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
