The Walking Dead: Are the comics and games crossing over?
By Adam Carlson
In the past of The Walking Dead, the comic books and Telltale games have existed in the same universe, but remained separate…but is that about to change?
Outside of the hit AMC television show and popular comic book series, perhaps the most powerful property in The Walking Dead universe are the games from Telltale. Through 2 main series games and a spinoff with Michonne, the games have told a fantastic story that had never been told in the comics or television shows.

Fans of the video games should be very excited. Following the release of issue 157 of The Walking Dead comic book series, there is new hope that the comics may be bringing in some inspiration from the Telltale games.
This is purely speculation right now, but there is a definite possibility that this could be a plausible situation for the future of the comics.
In the comics, Eugene is currently talking with a woman named Stephanie. This has been going on for several months now, with him hiding his conversations from the rest of the survivors in Alexandria. However, a mention of the location of Stephanie’s settlement is very interesting to fans familiar with The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Season 2.
Stephanie told Eugene that they are in Ohio.

Ohio doesn’t hold much significance to readers of The Walking Dead comic book series, but gamers will know that Wellington, Ohio is the location of a safe-zone and community that was found by Clementine. This colder location near the shores of Lake Erie was the target location for survivors in the game, and could be a long-lasting community like the one in the comics.
When you add in the recent discussion of snow appearing on the hit AMC television show, like in this article on ComicBook.com, the question of whether or not Wellington will be included in the comic book series and eventually the AMC drama has become a very relevant question.
"“One way or another, I make no promises, but I would be shocked if we didn’t,” showrunner Scott Gimple says about featuring snow on AMC’s The Walking Dead. “But, it would be special if we did it.”"

What do you think? Would you like to see Wellington be the community Eugene is talking to on the radio in the comics? If so, how do you see things working with Clementine and others becoming real characters in the comic book series and possibly The Walking Dead television show? Or would it be better for this to be a different community in Ohio? Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
