Fans of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game should be excited about Season 3, as it was announced that some familiar faces from the comics will be included.

Thinking about the universe of The Walking Dead is difficult at times. The comic book series seems to be the basis for everything. The hit AMC show is based on the books and the Telltale Games series seems to share the same universe as the source material.

So, it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that there have been times that the comics and the games have intertwined. Yet, every single time that it happens is a fantastic occurrence that leaves fans absolutely thrilled with seeing the characters they have known to love.

In the past, fans have gotten to see Hershel, Glenn, and others in the game, but now it appears as though some more characters will be making the leap from the comic book page to the video game universe.

Recently, Job Stauffer of Telltale Games spoke with IBTimes about the newest installment of the game series that is set for release later in 2016, and the news can be getting everyone all giddy inside.

"“As we get into this third season, it does start butting up against where the comics are now. Geographically we’re very much closer to Virginia, and that does open the door… we will be seeing some characters from the comics, more highly integrated with this third season.”"

This should only add excitement to the series, as the reveal trailer at E3 gave fans a great new look at Clementine and a new character name Javier. Here is that trailer as shared by IGN on YouTube:
