Last week on Fear the Walking Dead, it was all action as Slick Nick closed the deal with the sultry Luciana. The zombie apocalypse is no match for Nick’s game.

The Silver Tongue of México

Nick put in the work, passed tests, and got richly rewarded. In fact, he literally said “I heard you like to test people,” prompting Luciana to show him he more than passed the test. Rocking Mr. Clark’s world. It’s no coincidence folks, it was bound to happen.

First, Nick was discovered traveling with walkers to begin with, showing he ain’t afraid of a little danger. Afterwards, the man showed his crazy yet kind side at the supermarket. Practically almost losing his hand shoplifting a candy bar all to make an innocent orphan’s day.

Then Nick showed off his Chemistry/Biology Double Major crafting those pills. Let’s not forget when Nick played some soccer with the neighborhood youngsters, showing his fatherly side.

Good ole’ Nick even showed initiative to learn the native language. A Spanish dictionary the first thing Luciana spotted upon walking in to his new place. Reminder that he let Luciana come to him, not the other way around. Patience and nonchalant attitude on full display folks. Take notes.

Nick did some groundwork asking if she had a boyfriend but that’s where it ended. Textbook. This is chess not checkers. Slow burn to the magic. The dictionary came in handy as Luciana’s heart melted. All in a week’s work for the silver tongue of México.

Fear the Walking Dead’s Late Checkout Fees

Strand Cries?

Sobbing? Weeping? Strand originally didn’t even seem that closely connected to Thomas Abigail in all earnest. Yet, when he recalled the story at the hotel he could barely contain himself.

Was it all a ploy to get the man to open the door? A conman tactic or genuine emotion? You decide. Either way, it looks like Strand is about to get himself in more than a bit of trouble this week as he’s hurt in the preview trailer.

This will leave Madison’s group vulnerable and weaken their influence. They’re in great danger of losing the numbers game for overall control of the hotel. Will the alliance last with the walkers out or will the new partnership crumble from the inside?

Is the menace of outsiders coming to take a newly renovated hotel enough to keep everyone on the same page? Perhaps Strand’s injury does not come at the hands of a walker but rather by the man standing at his zombie wife’s door. In a fit of rage or disbelief that his wife’s personification is gone forever he might lash out at Strand.

“We are all Whole Foods!”

There might be implications for Nick’s stay this week, as the Supermarket leaders might get closer to discover the town’s location. Imminent potential peril or damaging paranoia?

It’s difficult to definitively say as of yet. However, we could be seeing Nick take a page from Rick Grimes. Perhaps a patented Grimes-style Negan ambush idea thrown around on Fear the Walking Dead.

Nick seems to be making the case to the pharmacist town leader in the Fear the Walking Dead preview. Will Nick look to take over the supermarket before the supermarket handlers take his town? Get them before they get us kind of thing. Although it clearly hasn’t worked out for Rick’s group….
