What song from a musical could be used for Victor Strand in the situation we find him in now at the hotel in Fear the Walking Dead?

A while back I did a series of songs from my favorite musicals to go with characters from The Walking Dead. It was a fun thing for me to do because I love certain musicals and I love The Walking Dead. It was interesting to put together songs and characters that you wouldn’t think would go together.

I was thinking about that series today and thinking I needed to expand it to the new characters on The Walking Dead and the characters from Fear the Walking Dead. The song that came to me was a very odd choice for one of my favorite characters from Fear the Walking Dead, Victor Strand.

Instead of choosing a song to go with Victor’s big personality–the one that bumps his gums constantly and is the seducer of people and the closer, I chose a song that is about longing for that person.

“Slide Some Oil To Me” from The Wiz is the song where the tin man gets to come back to life after being a tin statue for so long. He comes to life after being lubricated with oil by his new friends that come along and they all have new experiences together in a strange new world.

Right now, Victor is a little lost. He’s not in control anymore. He doesn’t have the boat or the home or the supplies. He’s not prepared. He doesn’t make the rules anymore. He’s still lovable. But he’s a little stiff and stuck. He needs some oil to loosen him up again.

He needs the help of new friends in a new and different world. Just like the tin man who was rusted shut, Victor has been shut down by the events of the apocalypse. He needs to find his heart in this new world with new people.

So, get that oil can out, Madison and Alicia. Slide some oil to him. He’ll start to feel just fine!

Slide some oil to me
Let it trickle down my spine
If you don’t have S.T.P.
Crisco will do just fine

Slide some to my elbows
And to my fingers if you would
Slide some oil to me, girl
Whoo! Don’t that feel good!

Slide some oil to my feet, look
I got toes again
Come on and slide some oil to my knees
And let me see if I can bend

Slide some oil to me
I’m beginning to feel just fine
Slide some oil down my throat
And let me lubricate my mind

Slide some oil to me
go ahead, hit my shoulder blades
Those who don’t have to lubricate
Sure got it made
Slide some oil to me
Let it slip down my side
Laying there in one position
Sure does make me tired

Now watch me dance!

And let me lubricate my mind.
