Fear the Walking Dead Recap: Episode 212 ‘Pillar of Salt’

Episode 212 of Fear the Walking Dead brought us back to La Colonia and the hotel in Mexico as the show moves closer to the season 2 finale.

La Colonia is deserted in the morning and a little family decides to escape while a guard is asleep. They don’t think it’s safe there anymore. They climb in the bus, capture one of the infected from the back door and cover themselves with the guts.

Slowly they make their way through the infected and out into the world outside the Colonia. Almost immediately they get caught by two men who are looking for the rest of their Oxy!

Ofelia pulls up to the Poco Cielo restaurant in the truck. She gets out with a hammer in hand and takes out an infected Tyreese style. She looks at the water and remembers when her ex-fiance proposed.

Back at the Rosarita, the entire gang is trying to get things moving. There’s cleaning and fishing and surfing going on. Alicia made a friend and they discuss family. The generator is working. They have ice!

The bride’s mother stabbed Victor in the stomach because he put her daughter down. Madison decided to separate her. She made it clear to the group that anyone who causes any violence will be booted out of the new community they are building.

Alejandro is cracking and starting not trust Luciana. Nick and Luciana argue about the flock starting to be fractured. Luciana says that Alejandro saved them. Nick tells her she saved him. She tells him they will stay.

Nick and Alejandro have it out about the Colonia. He asks Nick to trust him. NIck thinks that the walls won’t protect them and the men will come for them.

Madison and Elena go to the mercado to trade fish and ice for things on a list that they brought. The same mercado that Nick and Luciana go to. Madison figures out that the Colonia that the men are talking about is where Nick must be.

Nick tries to make a deal to make a trade with one of the men. To fix other people’s problems like Americans do according to the man.

Madison and Elena have words with the people at the mercado. Elena’s nephew tells her not to come back. They won’t be there much longer.

Alicia and Strand connected while she tended to his wounds. She confided in him about how she took care of Nick and her dad and how Madison had her hands full. Strand told Alicia that she has Madison all to herself now. Alicia told Strand that she’s not sure he mother really sees her. Strand told her to make her!

Much to Alicia’s unhappiness, Madison turned on the hotel lights for Nick to see and perhaps Travis has seen them. Things are lining up for the next episodes to lead into a finale where everything should come together somehow. Hopefully, in a crazy and exciting and surprising way.
