Season 7 of The Walking Dead is a month away. If you are planning a premiere party, it shouldn’t be a stressful event for you, the premiere will be stressful enough.

If you’re having a premiere party for the kick off of Season 7 of The Walking Dead, don’t let it stress you out as much as the cliffhanger from the finale of season 6! Make your party a fun time for your guests and an easy night for you, too.

We’ve all seen the adorable and Intricately decorated cookies on PInterest or in magazine articles that they make sound so easy, but we know are really Martha Stewart level difficulty or will end up in those “nailed it” comparison photos.

Don’t do that to yourself. I have ideas for you that are easy for real people that will make your party fun and still zombilicious and zombidorable.

Decorations

  • Green balloons (Tip: hang upside down from the ceiling with ribbons-no helium)
  • Printouts of quotes from the show (cut the corners to round out the paper)
  • Printouts of character names or other words or even pictures (Tip: string the quotes or other printouts with ribbon like garland to hang on walls or mantels or across tall counters)
  • Red and black balloons for Negan theme
  • Use red Negan bandana as placemat for appetizers
  • Pop! characters
  • Print out signs for the food items. Use The Walking Dead pictures or chiller fonts.
  • Black table cloth

Food

You can use your own creativity here or just make your favorite dishes and appetizers. The easiest thing to do is to decorate the food table with signs and/or Pops! or The Walking Dead things rather than kill yourself trying to make the food items themselves intricately made or decorated to be zombie related.

  • Cake with pink frosting (Merle)
  • Cupcakes with red sprinkles (blood/Negan)
  • Spaghetti
  • BBQ/meatballs
  • M & M’s (Carl likes them stale)

Games/Activities

  • Printed word searches (Worksheetworks.com)
  • Gather old scrabble tiles or Bananagrams tiles from all your neighbors. Put them all over tables and end tables. Let guests just play with the tiles to create The Walking Dead related words.
  • Pictionary or Hangman: Play Pictionary with The Walking Dead related words. Here’s a list to get you started: prison, RV, sheriff,  farm, woods, pizza, key, handcuffs, roof, bite, fire, watch, flu, pig, horse, gun, frog, ski cap, tank, eye patch, doll, baby, fence, vest, wings, boots, grenade, laundry, map, church, water, flowers, rats, brains, car, herd, ear, train, can, squirrel, owl, shovel, hospital, lollipop,  uniform. sword, bullets, screwdriver, mermaid, knife, arrow, backpack, blood, beard, trees, slippers, dirt, well, etc. You can use character names and places as well.
  • Alphabet game. Go around the room starting with A and name The Walking Dead related words starting with each letter of the alphabet. If a person can’t name something, just let them pass.
  • Quotes game. Use your quotes decorations as a game. Have guests choose a quote from the wall and say the character who said it and anything else they can remember about that quote such as the episode or season or to whom the character said it.
  • Name game. Come up with The Walking Dead related words for each letter of your first name.
  • Charades: Act out characters from the show!
  • Walker walk contest: Judge each others zombie walks.

Walker Grab Bag

If your party goers are people who have lots of collectibles, do a version of the white elephant grab bag. Have them bring a gift of a The Walking Dead item they already own and are willing to part with to put into the pile and they will get a “new” item to take home!

Lucille Door Prize

Have guests choose names from the line-up for the Lucille victim. This may or may not be a good idea, depending on your thought process. It may be too sad and bizarre to win something when you find out someone dies.

Next: Make a photo booth/photo props for your party!

This should give you a good start of ideas for your premiere party. I will keep thinking of other ideas that are inexpensive and easy. Your party should be fun and stress-free! You shouldn’t be spending all weekend drawing bloody zombie eyes on tiny pretzel sticks!
