The Walking Dead party: Make photo booth props with your printer
By Susie Graham
People are going to take pictures at your The Walking Dead party. Here’s an easy way to make them more memorable with just a printer and some preparation.
The Walking Dead returns in just a month. If you’re going to have a big party with friends or a small family party, you can add a little fun with photo booth props for all the selfies and photos people are sure to take to remember that night.
You want your party for season 7 to be memorable, but you don’t want it to be stressful. Start planning now! My advice is to chose ideas that are not difficult. You don’t need to add to the stress of the episode by choosing ideas that will have you slaving in the kitchen that night or so tired from all the preparations that you can’t enjoy your guests or the actual party and the episode.
Photo props that you create with your printer can add some fun to the evening and to your photo memories with minimal preparation and expense.
If you have a color printer, your options are wider, but a black and white printer has plenty of options. If you want to add handles, use craft sticks (Popsicle sticks) and tape to the back of the paper. If you have extra money available, you can use thicker paper, colored paper, and/or laminate the props if you happen to have a home laminating machine or a teacher store close by.
Here are some ideas. I’m sure you can use this list to spark more ideas of your own.
- Quotes (Think short and big font)
- Character names
- Abraham’s mustache
- Sheriff’s hat
- Beard
- Mullet
- Daryl wings
- Beanie
- Eye patch
- Walker teeth
- 1/2 a walker face
- Band-aids
- Hashtags

Extra idea: Layer white paper on construction paper for interesting look and extra color for quotes.
Extra idea: Use a dollar store shower curtain with paper decorations as a backdrop for your photos.
Bonus prop: Check the dollar stores to see if there are wiffle bats left over from summer or other props that might work such as red bandanas or sheriff stars.
