Walking Dead Launches Digital Store in Rawr Messenger

The Walking Dead has launched a digital store within the Rawr Messenger app. A 3D avatar messaging service created by Helsinki-based developers Futurefly.
The official in-app Walking Dead store will give fans the opportunity to customize their avatars as favorites Negan, Rick, Michonne, and the walker zombies themselves. Everything from in-app clothes, weapons (Negan’s trusty bat Lucille / Michonne’s sword), to Rick’s beard can be adorned.
Robert Kirkman, Skybound Entertainment Chairman and Creator of The Walking Dead, commented on the partnership: “I am continually excited to see the expansion of The Walking Dead universe. We are looking forward to the partnership between Skybound and Rawr, and how it will create an opportunity for fans to become a part of The Walking Dead world.”
Oskari ‘Ozz’ Häkkinen, Founder and Chief Product Officer of Futurefly, was thrilled about working with the franchise, “As a huge fan of The Walking Dead myself, I am so glad to open that world up to Rawr users. We want our users to be able to express themselves in whatever way they deem fit, be it through accurate representations, expressions of who they would like to be, or celebrations of their favorite celebrities, TV characters and role models.”

Oskari added, “Though I cannot say Negan is that much of a role model, the fact Rawr users can dress up like him makes me very happy indeed.” The attractive Walking Dead items are purchased with in-app credit, which can be purchased instantly but also accrues over time.
This marks the first time ever that 3D wearable items/accessories are available to purchase within a messaging app. We are witnessing digital history folks. The Walking Dead‘s digital in-app store is Rawr’s third high profile partnership since August 2016, following prominent launches with Chelsea Football Club and Red Bull.
