The Walking Dead Season 7 standout Steven Ogg lands new role in science fiction thriller Solis.

Steven Ogg pretty much owns Hollywood right now. He’s starring in two of television’s hottest shows that, coincidentally, go head to head on Sunday nights at 9pm. The first one is AMC’s juggernaut The Walking Dead, and HBO’s new golden goose, Westworld. Now he’s set to star in a new science fiction thriller called Solis.

Details about Solis are pretty scarce at this point, but we do know that filming starts in December and Ogg’s character is an engineer trapped inside an evacuation vessel after an accident. The pod is drifting toward the sun and there isn’t much to be done about it. Solis is a tale of perseverance and the will to survive. Solis will be produced by Charlette Kilby and Caleb Wilson and directed by Carl Strathie, with filming set to take place in London. No word of a release date has been mentioned.

Ogg has appeared in dozens of television roles over the years, but it was his role in Grand Theft Auto V that catapulted him to fame. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s also starring in two of the fall’s most highly anticipated series, The Walking Dead and Westworld. In The Walking Dead, Ogg’s character Simon has been met with enthusiasm from fans who loved seeing Simon put Gregory in his place as the new outpost leader in charge of keeping an eye on the Hilltop. In fact, Ogg’s performance as Negan’s right-hand man was so convincing that many people have wondered if Simon is more Negan than Negan himself.

Fans needn’t worry about the future of Simon and Gregory—both Ogg and Xander Berkeley are very close, to the extent that they have their own hashtag: #XandOgg.

It’s expected that filming for Solis won’t impact Ogg’s role in The Walking Dead, which is presently two episodes away from the midseason finale. Westworld Season 1 bows on December 4th.
