Preview panels: The Walking Dead 161 ‘The Whisperer War Part 5’

With The Whisperer War heating up in a big way, what can fans expect from issue 161 of The Walking Dead comics? Check out the preview page right here!

The Walking Dead might be looking at a midseason finale on the AMC television show, but there is a lot of action to be had in the comic book world as well, since The Whisperers are a dangerous force to be reckoned with.

Last month left off with some hope for many of the groups, but The Hilltop were not one of them. The Whisperers have infiltrated their community and pummeled it with flaming arrows. The community is on fire, including the house with baby Hershel and Sophia inside.

Issue 161 of the series titled “The Whisperer War Part 5 of 6” will be released on December 7, 2016. While it is hard to guess what is next for the survivors, the preview page has been released to give fans some idea of what to expect.

Here it is from the official The Walking Dead website:

The first preview panel shows someone standing over a freshly killed member of The Whisperers. The top of his head is blown off and is accentuated by the flames of The Hilltop flickering behind him.

Next, the people of The Hilltop are doing everything they can to eliminate as many walkers and members of The Whisperers as possible. Thankfully, it looks like baby Hershel is out of the house and safe with Sophia joining in the fight.

In the last panel, it seems like The Whisperers are winning the fight. Backed up and possibly cornered, the people of The Hilltop are getting ready for their final effort to make a stand and discussing possible ways to keep the fight going.

Based on these panels, it look like a bulk of this month’s issue will the The Whisperers’ attack on The Hilltop. With all the possible losses there, that makes The Walking Dead: The Whisperer War Part 5 of 6 even more important to the future of the zombie apocalypse.
