The Walking Dead earns the #7 spot on the FanSided Fandom 250 list
By Adam Carlson
The Walking Dead has a very strong presence on FanSided’s Fandom 250 list, landing at #7 among all of the fan bases for any subject all around the world.
On Twitter and other social media sites, fans of popular zombie survival drama The Walking Dead use the hashtag #TWDFamily to show the love, togetherness and mass appeal of Robert Kirkman’s creation.
While it may just be a hashtag, there is a lot of truth in it. All that a fan of the show, comics, games, toys, or any other part of the undead franchise needs to do to get in touch with another fan is use that hashtag and conversation will likely start.
Another interesting hashtag is #Fandom250. FanSided undertook a major task of fishing through all of the shows, games, movies, celebrities, designers, and more to put together a list of the things people love the most. And, of course, The Walking Dead made that list.

In fact, the zombie drama crushed most of the competition like a swift hit from Lucille to an unsuspecting victim, establishing themselves as a fan juggernaut by landing at the #7 position on the list.

The only television show ranked higher AMC’s The Walking Dead on the list is Game of Thrones. While HBO’s fantasy program has very intense fans and a large group of viewers, there is definitely an argument to be made that the larger audience and mass appeal of the undead franchise should have been enough to surpass Game of Thrones.
Still, fans should be very happy with being featured in such a prominent place on the list. The AMC show is in its 7th season and the comic book series is over 160 issues with multiple fantastic video games spawned from the franchise. Add in tabletop games, toys, collectibles, apparel, cosplay, and more, and there is no denying the power that Robert Kirkman’s creation has in the world.

Congratulations to The Walking Dead for earning such a high spot on the FanSided Fandom 250 list. This should be considered a huge “thank you” to fans of the hit show, comics, games, and other undead properties who have helped to make the franchise what it is today.
We’ll always be a #TWDFamily brought together by The Walking Dead. And that is a beautiful thing.
