The war with The Whisperers is coming to an end with the January issue of The Walking Dead comic book series. There is bound to be a lot of action and drama in the pages of the upcoming issue.

With a title like “The Whisperer War Part 6 of 6”, there is bound to be some closure when it comes to the incidents with Beta and the rest of his soldiers. But the big question is how long fans will need to wait to see the resolution of this situation.

Luckily, that wait won’t be too long. The Walking Dead issue 162 is scheduled to hit shelves on January 4, 2017 with a variant cover just like the others in the series based on the war with The Whisperers.

Here are the two covers that will be available from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment for “The Whisperer War Part 6 of 6”:

The first cover is the standard one. It features Andrea firing her weapon. Below that, there are members of The Whisperers ready to attack, with one of them getting a shot in the head. Interestingly enough, this is the first time a living character is featured being killed on a cover.

Negan graces the alternate cover. With hordes of walkers behind him and blood spraying all over, this could be a big issue for him after the destruction of Lucille and working out a deal with Rick Grimes.
