Aaron Rises Up

Aaron really proved himself in the midseason finale. Without him Rick wouldn’t have been able to find enough scavenged goods to appease Negan. He was a careful and fearless fighter that Rick needed in order to get past the walker traps and make it out of that leaky boat alive.

He also provided Rick with the moral support Rick needed. Unfortunately, he took quite a beating from the Saviors for that note they found in the storage tub. But he still stands by Rick and is ready to help Rick fight.

Aaron hasn’t been seen that much since he brought Rick and the others into Alexandria. But he’s been quietly helping in the background. Rick would not be able to rally the Alexandrians without him. They trust Aaron in a way they don’t trust Rick. Aaron is seen as one of them while Rick and the others are still looked at as outsiders.

Aaron has fighting skills. He’s smart and methodical. And he believes in Rick. That is something Rick is going to rely on heavily as he takes on the biggest challenge he’s faced so far. Taking down Negan is going to require leadership that can inspire loyalty.

It seems that Aaron is ready to take on more of a leadership role in Alexandria so that Rick can focus on moving the pieces into place to attack Negan.
