The Walking Dead returns Sunday with a great commercial and an episode directed by Greg NIcotero who posted about his excitement recently on Instagram.

Part of the fun of the return of The Walking Dead is seeing the cast share in the excitement with Tweets of photos and countdowns. Yesterday’s Super Bowl commercial really boosted the thrill levels.

The cast loved the commercial as much as we did. They shared it on social media with notes to us about rising up and seeing us in one week!

Robert Kirkman even let us know that the idea came from Scott Gimple! Way to go, Scott!

This morning Greg Nicotero took to Instagram to share some information about next Sunday’s big event. Greg directed the midseason premiere and he will be a guest on Talking Dead  to break down the events with Chris Hardwick.

We have been reading lots of interviews and seeing lots of pictures about the second half of season 7 to get us ready for the fight against Negan and the Saviors. We know that Rick and the group are going to have to recruit members of HIlltop and the Kingdom and maybe even other people we haven’t even met yet in order to address the huge numbers of Saviors.

"See you Sunday night! One of my favorite episodes of the season with ONE HELL OF A BAD ASS WALKER SEQUENCE. Back in the director’s chair for this one written by the amazing @angelakkang then on THE TALKING DEAD to detail all of the killer work everyone did on the episode."

Greg talked about something in his Instagram post that really makes me happy. It’s something that we’ve been missing a little bit. It is the reason for the apocalypse: Walkers!

And nobody works with walkers better than Greg Nicotero!

Next: Keep the zombies in my zombie show!

We’ve seen some walkers at Negan’s Sanctuary, and at the rave party the Saviors threw at Hilltop, but they haven’t been a big threat since the Walker herd invaded Alexandria. I’m looking forward to “one hell of a bad ass walker sequence” as part of the return of The Walking Dead on Sunday!

Next Sunday night belongs to The Walking Dead!
