Overall Impression

‘New Best Friends’ was an excellent installment in The Walking Dead. Not only did it continue to push the story ahead at a quick pace, but many characters grew by leaps and bounds during episode 711.

The biggest positive is that Alexandria now has soldiers to help persuade others that the war can be won. However, they still need to sway Jadis and the new community by getting them weapons as a payment for their services.

There was some character development, both positive and negative in this episode. Gabriel, Carol, Morgan, Daryl, Richard, and others took big steps forward while Rosita took a huge step backwards.

As far as negatives from this week’s episode, the only real part that drew me away from the great story and acting were the horizon scenes on top of the trash heap. For some, there may not have been enough action, but otherwise, this was a fairly perfect episode of The Walking Dead.

Next: What happened in TWD episode 710?

Next week, The Walking Dead will return with another new episode. This one will be titled ‘Hostiles and Calamities’ and will air on Sunday, February 26, 2017. As usual, there will be another review for that episode, so be sure to come back and give it a read!
