The Walking Dead: Exclusive interview with Oceanside’s Beatrice, actor Briana Venskus

Can you tell me anything about your audition process and how this all started?

"Briana: “Oh my goodness! Well, as I’m sure you’ve heard from everyone else who has been on the show, it is one of the most secretive audition processes in the world. I probably spent, I don’t know, I would say the last five years or so getting about one audition, maybe two auditions a year for the show. One time I got close to getting in, but I didn’t book it . I just kept getting auditions more and more. Then around the end of May last year, I got a call and they’re like ‘they want you this time’. I was like ‘wait, what?’.”"

So from your prior auditions, they saw a fit for you in a totally different role?

"Briana: “Yeah, I think they kind of, I would like to assume that the way they do it is that they get an idea of what they like and they kind of keep it in their back pocket until they find the right thing for you.”"
