That’s not fair: Review of The Walking Dead episode 712 ‘Say Yes’
By Adam Carlson
Overall Impression of episode 712
As a whole, ‘Say Yes’ wasn’t quite an excellent episode throughout. While fans of The Walking Dead may have been asking for more action and adventure, it was an odd distraction from the focus of war and developing of characters.

Still, there were some developments. Tara deciding to talk to Rick about Oceanside, Rosita bringing Sasha in on her rogue attack, and watching Michonne’s emotional connection to Rick Grimes were all important takeaways, but took a while to get where they were going.
The Scavengers wanting more weapons in their trade with Alexandria had to be expected, but the interactions between the two groups continue to be some of the best moments from the show’s 7th season.
While this wasn’t one of the strongest episodes of season 7, it was a step forward. It gave us the Rosita/Sasha storyline, explained the deal Alexandria had with The Scavengers, and built up Father Gabriel yet again.
Overall, it was a decent episode, but it seemed like action sequences and a big fake-out were included just to change the pace of the season a bit. While that’s not a bad thing, it was a bit awkward since the last several episodes were about introducing and developing characters.
