The Walking Dead actor joins Once Upon a Time
He played the leader of a group of cannibals on The Walking Dead and now he’s landed a new role on ABC’s Once Upon a Time.
It’s hard to find two shows that are bigger polar opposites than The Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time. However, The Walking Dead’s favorite former leader of the Terminus station is taking on a new mystery role on ABC’s Once Upon a Time in time for the show’s season 6 finale later this spring.
Andrew J. West, who played Gareth on The Walking Dead, has been cast in a mystery role as a young man who used to be very optimistic but has lost the spark of optimism over the years. He’s a recluse, but if the right person comes along his optimism might be restored.
The role is set to debut during the Once Upon a Time season 6 finale with the possibility of developing into a larger role should the show be renewed for season 7. Right now there is no word of a seventh season pickup but there is a plan in place for the show should it happen. There is also speculation that West will play an older version of Henry, the young hopeful son who calls both Emma and Regina mom and whose optimism is responsible for unveiling the original curse that was blanketing Storybrooke.

If that’s the case, West could always play the role of the hungry Big Bad Wolf…
