Maggie’s high risk pregnancy on The Walking Dead took a turn when Simon took Dr. Carson from The Hilltop on Negan’s orders. Now Maggie needs Carol with her at The Hilltop.

Maggie already had one pregnancy scare after witnessing the brutal death of Glenn in The Walking Dead season 7 premiere. Dr. Carson wanted Maggie to stay at The Hilltop in case there were any more problems in her pregnancy. Now Dr. Carson is gone. What will that mean for Maggie and Baby Rhee?

Maggie is pretty capable so she will probably have a pretty good idea of how to take care of herself. But in case something goes wrong again she need Carol to come stay at The Hilltop.

Back in season 3 when Lori was pregnant with Judith Hershel instructed Carol how to handle different pregnancy problems and how to deliver the baby. He taught her how to perform a C-section as well. She practiced on walkers to get comfortable with the procedure.

So Carol would be the logical choice to stay close to Maggie and help her in case another problem arises with Baby Rhee. They still have all of Dr. Carson’s equipment including the ultrasound machine. Maggie performed Lori’s C-section when Judith was born. Together the two of them are the best chance for making sure that Baby Rhee is okay.

Would Carol Agree To Stay At The Hilltop?

Carol’s in fight mode now, so she may not want to stay behind to protect Maggie and Baby Rhee. She is committed to getting justice for Glenn and Abe. The loss of Glenn hit her hard, probably more than losing Abraham. Carol knew Glenn since the beginning of the apocalypse. She knew him even before Maggie came into the picture.

So losing one of the core group hit her hard. It’s probably the only thing that could push her back into being willing to fight. And now that Carol wants vengeance she is a force to be reckoned with. But she loves Maggie too. And she’s been protective of Maggie ever since Maggie revealed her pregnancy.

When Maggie insisted on going to stand guard when the group massacred The Saviors Carol stayed with Maggie to makes sure she survived. Once she knows about the situation at The Hilltop and that Negan took their doctor she may be willing to stay and protect Maggie.

Keeping Maggie and Baby Rhee alive is critically important now for the whole group on The Walking Dead. Of course they love her, but it’s also something they owe to Glenn. Watching over Maggie and Glenn’s baby is the only way they have now to honor him and keep his spirit alive.
