Maggie and Sasha’s bond of friendship on The Walking Dead
After Sasha’s death Maggie continued their bond of friendship by taking out and burying Walker Sasha in the season 7 finale of The Walking Dead.
Thinking back, fans of The Walking Dead are reminded in season 5 after the death of Sasha’s beloved Bob and brother Tyreese, and how she became angry at the world and everyone in it. She shut people out by putting up a wall.
Through all of this anger she found a way connect with Maggie who is experiencing a loss of her own, her entire family. After the death of Glenn and Abraham their connection grew. Sasha is able to provide much-needed assistance with getting Maggie to the Hilltop to secure medical care and remain hidden from Negan.
7 seasons of AMC’s The Walking Dead have given way to an impromptu agreement among Ricks group when dealing with walkers. Always burn the dead and bury the ones we love. After Sasha’s death, Maggie knew she gave the ultimate sacrifice, her life, in hopes of stopping Negan and the Saviors.

Maggie loves Sasha and knew she would not want to roam the earth as an undead. She actively sought out her friend, with the help of Jesus, to humanely end her zombie existence before the sun set on her as a walker.
Thinking back to Sasha’s last moments in Negan’s silver casket, as she listened to her iPod that Eugene gave her. She recalled a memory of watching a beautiful sunrise with Maggie. As the sun rose two friends had a hope to share a new life together.
This future was not meant to be, but at least the moment of these two strong women who have lost nearly everything in their world looking at the beautiful sun is not lost upon viewers of AMC’s zombie survival drama.
