The impact of Jadis becoming a regular for The Walking Dead season 8

The news that Pollyanna McIntosh has been made a regular for season 8 of The Walking Dead means that Jadis and The Scavengers may have bigger roles.
One of the most intriguing storylines for season 7 of The Walking Dead involved a new group of survivors called The Scavengers. Led by Jadis, their strange way of talking and living was unlike anything seen on the hit AMC zombie drama before.
When they turned their backs on Rick Grimes and the people of Alexandria in the season 7 finale, many fans probably thought this group would be bodies to die in the battle against The Saviors which had been building up.
Interestingly enough, it appears as though that won’t be the case. With the news that of Pollyanna McIntosh being upgraded to a series regular for season 8, viewers may be seeing a lot more of her character Jadis and her junkyard people in the future.

McIntosh joins Katelyn Nacon who plays Enid and Steven Ogg who portrays Simon as those being brought up to series regulars. While there was little doubt that The Saviors or The Hilltop could be around for the long haul, the future of The Scavengers, who were not a part of the comic book series, was definitely not a lock.
At the end of season 7, The Scavengers took a ‘better deal’ from The Saviors, but their future as villains also isn’t a lock. While they are hated for turning their back on Alexandria, beating up Michonne, and shooting Rick. Their services could once again be available for the highest bidder if their deal with Negan has been fulfilled.
Together, The Saviors and The Scavengers could pick off each of the smaller communities with ease if Jadis and her people remain in cahoots with Negan.

It will be interesting to see what direction AMC goes with Jadis and The Scavengers in the future. Either way, seeing more of Pollyanna McIntosh will bring some intrigue to season 8 of The Walking Dead when it premieres in October.
