Review: Fear The Walking Dead episode 303 ‘TEOTWAWKI’

Overall impression of Fear 303

As a whole, this episode of Fear The Walking Dead was meant to push the story forward at Broke Jaw Ranch and successfully did that by developing more of the story with the Clark and Otto families.

More from Undead Walking

For fans of action, there wasn’t a lot of that. Outside of the return of Daniel Salazar and the scene with Strand and the devouring walker pit, there was a lot of dialogue and not a lot of action. Some people call episodes like this ‘filler’, but it is more of a set-up to make the upcoming episodes more powerful.

Plus, episodes like ‘TEOTWAKI’ are great for developing characters. Showing more about how Broke Jaw Ranch works and what they have to offer was essential, and combining it with Strand’s story made for a solid, but ultimately forgettable episode.

By no means was episode 303 bad, but it was awkward. Especially the scene shared by Troy and Nick on the hunt is something that will likely be a major turning point between the two characters and maybe change the entire dynamic of the series.

As a whole, this is a solid C+ episode. While it was above average, it didn’t change a whole lot. However, learning more

Fear The Walking Dead will return with episode 4 of season 3 titled ‘100’ on June 18, 2017. Hopefully, we will learn more about the return of Daniel and the awkward relationship between the Otto and Clark families.
