What if Daniel Salazar had ended up at La Colonia or at the resort? There’s a reason he could only return to Fear the Walking Dead now.

Daniel Salazar is back on Fear the Walking Dead, and when you stop to consider his background and his instincts for survival, it makes perfect sense the he didn’t show up sooner. Daniel would have done things much differently in the situations we have seen with Madison, Nick, and now Strand. Given his experience back home, Daniel Salazar is someone who knows how bad a situation can get, and he’s too smart to let that happen to himself again.

As fans of Fear the Walking Dead, we can always play the “What If” game with the characters. It’s like an imaginary game of chess where you move different players around the board and consider how it might change the course of events. In Daniel Salazar’s case, he would have had a big impact wherever he would have landed.

If Daniel had showed up at La Colonia, it’s safe to say that he would have had an interesting relationship with Alejandro. La Colonia was under the constant threat of attack, and Daniel would have been more likely to work to fortify the community rather than sit back and let things happen. It’s safe to say that La Colonia might still be thriving if Daniel had been there to help guide them.

Daniel would have seen the value of defending the resort, especially if his daughter was there with him. He would have seen the long-term value of defending the resort because it is an ideal place to settle. However, Daniel would have seen the resistance from the people living there and would have done whatever it takes to make sure he’s in charge. Strand would have agreed with him, and possibly Madison as well, but his methods might not have been acceptable for her at that point.

Hopefully Daniel, Strand and Madison reconnect at some point. After what they have all been through, they’re now all on the same page and it’s easy to imagine that they could be a very powerful team moving forward.
