The Walking Dead and EW released the first photo from The Walking Dead season 8 showing Daryl and Carol together and ready for All Out War.

Season 8 may still be a few months out, but the next week or so should bring a flurry of new information and photos about the new season of The Walking Dead leading up the release of the trailer at San Diego Comic Con.

The first photo of The Walking Dead season 8 emerged today courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. It shows Daryl and Carol standing together at a location that looks like The Kingdom. Daryl has his bike back and Carol is dressed in Kingdom armor looking ready to go into battle.

Carol is wearing an orange armband, but Daryl isn’t. That seems to indicate that the members of the different communities are possibly going to wear armbands in faction colors.

It would be very smart to do that so they can be identified by their allies once the war begins. Without some kind of way to identify allies there could be some friendly fire deaths. That’s the kind attention to detail that will give Team Family an edge in the war that’s coming.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Trailer

With just over a week until the season 8 trailer is released fans are anxiously awaiting any news about the upcoming season. The trailer will be released after the Fear The Walking Dead panel and The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic Con. Both panels are being held on Friday, July 21s. So Friday fans will get their first look at the new season.

Season 8 will premiere in October as usual. The season 8 premiere is also the 100th episode of the show which is a huge achievement for a genre show. The Walking Dead is still at the top of the ratings for cable and it remains the number one show on cable TV.

What The Trailer Will Reveal

Typically The Walking Dead trailer that is released at SDCC previews the events of the entire season and not just the premiere. But fans will be watching for scenes of the intense war that presumably will cover at least season 8A. All Out War is a storyline that fans have been waiting anxiously for since the season 7 premiere when Negan killed both Abe and Glenn.

Season 7 was an emotionally wrenching season for fans who went on the difficult journey of grieving with the characters they love. Now they’re ready to see those characters bring their considerable skills together to bringing Negan and The Saviors down for good.

The Walking Dead season 8 trailer will debut in just over a week on Friday, July 21st.
