The Walking Dead: Would you want an entire season at once?
Let’s start a conversation! With so many options to watch entire seasons of television shows at once, would it be a good idea to have The Walking Dead available all at once?
There’s no question that streaming television is the future. Streaming providers like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime are now their own production companies and they regularly release their shows all at once. As I watched the awe-inspiring season 8 trailer for The Walking Dead, there was a part of me that wishes that the first half of The Walking Dead season 8, or better yet the entire season, was available all at once.
Imagine that: All 16 episodes available at midnight on October 22. The TWD Family would be in front of their televisions at midnight, with snacks and drinks ready for a sixteen-hour marathon.
There would be no more week-to-week cliffhangers that would leave us hanging.
We would know everything that happens in season 8 in one sixteen hour time frame.
Wouldn’t it be amazing?
Of course, all of the upsides must be tempered with the downfalls of having an entire season available at once. In order for the entire season to be ready, there would no doubt be a much longer production time. Instead of a new season every year, it could be 18 months between seasons. Would it be worth the wait?
Absolutely, of course it would be worth it!
Then again, it’s probably for the best that we don’t get the entire season all at once. 16 hours every 18 months would be a long time to wait for new episodes.
