Seeing Clementine on AMC’s The Walking Dead was a dream scenario for many fans, but that crossover will never happen according to creator Robert Kirkman.

Ever since The Walking Dead game series from Telltale Games debuted, fans have been wondering about the possibility of a major character from the series making an appearance on the hit AMC television series.

In the past, there have been some vague rumblings that kept hope alive for Clementine to someday show up on the popular zombie survival drama series, but those hopes were dashed at Comic Con in San Diego.

MoviePilot captured the conversation with franchise creator Robert Kirkman, where he was quite matter-of-fact about this situation not happening.

"“It would be cool to see Clementine show up and high-five Carl, but you’re just gonna have to write some fan-fiction, I’m sorry.”"

For many fans, that is hard to hear. The idea of seeing a crossover between the games and television show would be amazing, but it appears as though those two universes will need to remain separate.

Kirkman likes that the unique characters in each universe give fans a different experience they can only get with that medium.

"“I like that if you want to play ‘The Walking Dead’ video game, you get Clementine, and you get a unique experience … I think that it makes ‘The Walking Dead’ more special that the comic has an experience, and they’re very linked.”"
