Jon Bernthal is making waves in Hollywood, and the Punisher and The Walking Dead actor discussed some of his favorite movies with Rotten Tomatoes.

Fan of The Walking Dead know Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh, the former police partner of Rick Grimes. While he is no longer on the popular AMC zombie survival drama, the actor is still making waves in Hollywood.

Bernthal’s acting landed him some roles in huge productions. He earned the role of Frank Castle in the Netflix Daredevil series, which translated into a spinoff based on The Punisher. In addition, he earned roles in big films, such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Sicario, Baby Driver, and the recent movie Pilgrimage.

With all that attention, the actor was currently interviewed by film review site Rotten Tomatoes about his five favorite movies. Here are his choices:

GOODFELLAS (1990)

This classic mob movie is a favorite of many fans of cinema. Directed by Martin Scorsese, Goodfellas is a brutal and compelling look into the story of gangster Henry Hill.

"“That sense of anything can happen at anytime, it’s happening right there in the moment. I think it really, really just shines brightest in that film, and that’s why it’s my favorite film.”"

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991)

Considering how much Bernthal is attached to shocking and disturbing content, it isn’t a surprise to see this Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster classic on his list.

"“I think Ted Levine’s performance as Buffalo Bill is one of the most haunting performances that has ever happened on film. He’s an actor that I admire so deeply and I really love…”"

TRUE ROMANCE (1993)

A Quentin Tarantino screenplay and an all-star cast made up of Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt and more help make this action packed dark comedy a masterpiece.

"“It was just the coolest movie ever made, but so heartfelt and so honest, and every performance is so rich. God, I just love that f—ing film, man. I just absolutely love it, and I believe every second of it too, and I cannot say enough good about that one.”"

A PROPHET (UN PROPHETE) (2010)

Many movie fans may not have seen A Prophet, but the compelling story of an illiterate prisoner trying to survive among other, more hardened, prisoner is an interesting take on the hierarchy in the justice system.

"“I know nothing about what French prison would be like, I know nothing about it, but I believe every single second of that film. I feel like, after you watch that film, you know a little bit about what that’s like.”"

D.C. CAB (1983)

The last movie included in the list is one that may surprise many people. In a movie staring Mr. T and Adam Baldwin., a fleet of cabs is on the verge of being out of service and it is up to the cabbies save the business.

"“It shows a little bit of the real DC that I think never gets shown in films and television. I just love the movie. I think it’s the only honest DC movie ever made, and its funny as hell.”"
