The Walking Dead Arcade Game is heading over to Bethany Beach Delaware. Shore Fun has acquired the crossbow controlled fun machine for the locals. Be Daryl!

For the first time, Walking Dead fans over at Arnie’s Playland will be able to take a detour from Dave and Busters and play Raw Thrills’ crossbow wielding arcade right then and there. It’s a mighty fine time to support local arcades folks!

Arnie’s, is currently in the process of being renamed to Shore Fun (its original name), and taking changes seriously. Delivering on the promise of modern, heavy hitting coin-ops to join its money-driving Skee-Ball. Giving new fresh titles like The Walking Dead Arcade Game and Space Invaders Frenzy a chance.

The main event, the heavy weight contender, The Walking Dead Arcade Game comes with a hefty price-tag at after all. According to this Bethany Beach Press Release and a quick search around EBay, the new-age machine sells for anywhere from $13,000 – $13,800.

That’s a wallop to the wallet even for an arcade operator. It means to acquire such a piece necessitates the means of making it back. For a family friendly place like Shore Fun, who’s built on a reputation built on 34+ years of the Arnie’s name (the previous owner’s father), it’s one of the last of a breed.

The Walking Dead’s Arcade Game is a rich experience

A majority of locally owned arcades in the US have approached a new take on the Arcade… Centering around a bar as the centerpiece, drinks as revenue. If you’re a New York City local, you’ve most likely heard of the fun, arcade reboot known as Barcade.

Usually, these type of arcades go for a more classical 80s-90s retro experience in their selection of games. Lowering the upfront cost that a machine like The Walking Dead Arcade Game requires substantially. If we want to be able to play new arcades like The Walking Dead anywhere like the old days, we must support such a venture.

It’s up to us, the market to send the message to local arcade owners that we have their back, that we want to try out these new modern machines.

That we want experiences that can’t be found on a console at home. The only way places like Shore Fun will be willing to take a gamble is if arcade fans show them it’s worth it.

According to Shore Fun manager Eric Esterson: “We’re trying to keep things new, based on what makes the most money. The video games are dying, because people are all about winning tickets and prizes.”
